In Which I Exemplify My Aversion to Marketing

Oh, right, I was going to use this blog to mention when I wrote stuff. OK! Um, Boston Globe, three days ago:
Nothing is off-limits from the dumb hard sell anymore - even things that aren't identifiably for sale. The long-lamented creep of commercialization has now crawled outside the bounds of commerce entirely, till real experiences and events have become promotional versions of themselves.
That was my excuse for complaining about the hideous new U.S. passports and West Point's moronic football uniforms, anyway.

Also, even longer ago, I came home from a late dinner to discover that Tribune had gone bankrupt, so I did this on IM:
Newspapers have always been the best HOBO BLANKETS, and we have UNPARALLELED OPPORTUNITY to LIVE the product that we make.
